Walking, Stairs, Still Hurting
Hard to believe almost 4 weeks and still hobbling.
So here is my summary: I tore my ACL on August 7th and have held off on surgery because (1) my knee was too swollen and (2) I don’t have the time to take off for surgery because bus. dev. has been even slower in August because of the Republication Nat. Convention and September is a must walk month to take out clients because it’s the only month of the quarter to generate business. And I’m still hobbling all over the place.
I’ve been getting bad tweak pains in my bad leg right now and am thinking I may need surgery sooner rather than later. I’m in excellent shape and was warned that even so my inability to get around will cause some muscle atrophy, especially after surgery. I don’t doubt that your problems stem from the long commute (draining), add to it the more sedentary lifestyle and the above difficulty with maneuvering and it makes sense.
This is strange—I’ve never taken this long to heal. Going up steps is still a major hassle. I really do need to go to physical therapy and will make calls. This is so incredibly difficult because I have no clue how to go about “interviewing” my therapists…
