Wes Mallard of the NFL New York Giants tears his left ACL.

Backup linebacker Wes Mallard of the pro football team, New York Giants, will miss the rest of the season with a torn arterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The third-year pro will need surgery, which was injured at practice on October 7. He also tore the same left ACL last season and was put on injured reserve for the final game. He is expected to be placed on IR again.
